Our Story

Rooted in Bronx streets, built for the hour help is needed

From kitchen-table counseling calls to pantry lines that stretch past dusk, our history is measured in neighbors who stayed housed, fed, and heard.

A charity that started where the need already lived

Immaculate Charity Hands of God Inc grew out of late-night phone calls in Bronx apartments—parents asking where to find diapers before Monday, elders unsure how to stretch a Social Security check through a cold snap, teens who needed a quiet adult after school. What began as informal mutual aid became a registered public charity so the same neighbors could receive help with clear books, clear doors, and clear accountability.

The Internal Revenue Service recognized our exemption under IRC Section 501(c)(3) effective November 9, 2021, classifying us as a public charity under Section 170(b)(1)(A)(vi). Donors may deduct contributions under IRC Section 170. Our accounting period ends December 31, and we file the annual information return or e-Postcard required of small public charities.

Today the work spans a 24/7 crisis helpline, emergency food and shelter bridge aid, mental wellness referrals, and educational support for children and families navigating hardship—still centered on Bronx, NY, still answering the phone like it matters.

Milestones 2020–2026

Four chapters that moved us from founding relief work to a vision of serving ten thousand families with disciplined, transparent care.

Founding & Emergency Relief Launch

Neighbors organized first emergency counseling calls and pantry drops across Bronx blocks while formal incorporation and IRS recognition work began.

Program Expansion Across the State

With 501(c)(3) status secured, helpline coverage, food logistics, and youth mentoring scaled through New York community partnerships.

2024

Community Resource Center Dedication

Dedicated intake space and coordinated weekend workshops gave families a known place to ask for food, shelter bridge aid, and counseling referrals.

2026

10,000+ Families & Future Vision

We aim to document sustained support for more than 10,000 families while keeping 88%+ of gifts flowing to direct mission programs.

What we refuse to compromise

Compassion

We meet people mid-crisis without lectures—first stabilize, then plan.

Integrity

Books, board minutes, and donor promises stay aligned with what happens on the street.

Direct Impact

Meals, rent bridges, counseling hours, and school kits beat vague “awareness” campaigns.

Radical Transparency

Allocation splits, Form 990 access, and officer names are published without hiding.

Community First

Bronx voices shape schedules, languages on flyers, and which pantry items restock first.

Rapid Response

Triage desks stay staffed so help is measured in hours, not weeks of waiting lists.
