Services designed for the first 48 hours of crisis

Three flagship lines—helpline, food & shelter, youth mentoring—with clear eligibility, schedules, and a simple path to ask for help.

Counselor providing crisis support

24/7 Community Crisis Helpline & Counseling

When sleep will not come and rent notices stack on the table, neighbors need a calm voice—not a voicemail maze. Our helpline offers psychological first aid, safety planning, and same-week referrals to mental health and social-service partners across Bronx, NY.

Schedule

Intake desk monitored 24/7. Live counselor callbacks prioritized for safety risks, domestic stress, and food/housing emergencies.

Eligibility

Open to individuals and families in hardship in Bronx and surrounding New York communities. No insurance required for initial triage.

Emergency food packing

Emergency Food, Shelter & Basic Needs Relief

Grocery kits, hygiene packs, and short-term housing cost support keep families from choosing between a warm meal and a roof. Weekend distribution points rotate through Bronx corridors where volunteers already know which buildings lost heat or wages.

Schedule

Weekend community distributions; midweek emergency packs by appointment after helpline triage.

Eligibility

Households experiencing food insecurity, eviction risk, or sudden income loss. Photo ID helpful but not a barrier for first emergency pack.

Youth educational mentoring

Youth Mentorship & Educational Empowerment

Teens carry adult worries quietly. We pair school-supply scholarships, career coaching, and Saturday life-skills workshops—resume drills, peer check-ins, and mental wellness tools—so students stay in class when home life frays.

Schedule

Weekend community workshops; mentoring matches reviewed monthly by Program & Outreach Director Daniel W. Hayes, Ed.D.

Eligibility

Youth ages ~12–18 from low-income or crisis-affected households in Bronx, NY. Caregiver consent required for minors.

“The shelter bridge covered two weeks of temporary stay after we lost heat. It was not a speech—it was a roof and a list of next steps.”
